RGSL Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct:

The purpose of this agreement is to promote sportsmanship, respect, and fair play for all participants in RGSL. Please review these expectations carefully and continue to follow them throughout the season. By signing the registration form, your family acknowledges that you understand and agree to uphold this Code of Conduct.

🥎 Parent/Guardian Expectations

  • I understand that my child participates in softball for her own enjoyment, not mine.
  • I will encourage my child to follow the rules and handle disagreements in a respectful and non-confrontational manner.
  • I will emphasize effort and personal growth over winning.
  • I will recognize and praise good sportsmanship and fair competition.
  • I will not criticize, ridicule, or speak negatively about any player, coach, or official for mistakes or game outcomes.
  • I understand that children learn by example, and I will demonstrate positive behavior by supporting and applauding both teams.
  • I will respect the decisions of officials and acknowledge their role in developing within the game.
  • I will promote a safe and healthy environment and will NOT use alcohol, tobacco, or drugs at any RGSL event.
  • I will support all efforts to eliminate verbal or physical misconduct involving players, coaches, officials, or spectators.
  • I will show appreciation for the volunteers who dedicate their time to the league.
  • I will not engage in yelling, taunting, threatening behavior, or any form of physical aggression.
  • I will use appropriate language at all times. I understand that continued use of inappropriate language may result in removal from events and could impact my child’s ability to participate.
  • I will avoid embarrassing or criticizing any participant involved in the game.
  • I will respect the role of the coaching staff and allow them to lead, while encouraging my child to follow team direction.
  • I will promote teamwork and support all players.
  • I understand that academics take priority over athletics.
  • I acknowledge that my child is responsible for maintaining and bringing her own equipment.
  • I will encourage commitment, skill development, and a focused approach to practices and games.
  • I will make an effort to better understand the game of softball, including rules, skills, and play.
  • I recognize the value of discipline, teamwork, and social development gained through sports participation.
  • I understand that my child’s role on the team is influenced by her attendance and level of commitment.
  • I will communicate any concerns respectfully with the coach or Division Director
